Python Hyena Prom (2011): Dir: Joe Nussbaum / Cast: Aimee Teegarden, Thomas McDonell, DeVaughn Nixon, Danielle Campbell, Yin Chang: Dreadful teen comedy about that hopeful night full of fear and anxiety with regards to acceptance. It is a film full of stupid stereotypes that we have seem in countless film that are about as bad as this one. It compares to the average yet much better Ten Things I Hate About You. I can certainly come up with at least ten things I hate about this film. Director Joe Nussbaum needs better material. He previous made Sleepover and Sydney White, which are every bit as worthless as this piece of junk. Aimee Teegarden plays that hot chick who has no prom date but after her prom decorations are burned in an accidental fire, she is paired up with the class outcast whom she hates but will eventually fall for. Julia Stiles and Heath Ledger had better luck with this in Ten Things I Hate About You because their roles were more appealing. Here we are expected to believe that Teegarden cannot get a date, which is difficult to believe. Thomas McDonell plays the bad ass who turns out to be the misunderstood good guy. DeVaughn Nixon plays the celebrated football player who cheats on his girlfriend. Danielle Campbell plays the so-called nice girl whom Nixon attempts to reunite with while she basically blows off another guy. Yin Chang plays one of Teegarden's friends and she is about as interesting as a locker door slammed in your face. This has all been seen before and it gets boring fast here. Rather than examine ones anticipation for prom night, it becomes one big embarrassing soap opera. Score: 3 / 10
tajera belieber Well The Disney's prom is not a movie which i expected. It played out a lot different than i thought! it is a movie that the whole family can watch in terms i would give it a five because i was expecting a lot more from this movie! when it advertises it makes it look much more fun than when you are actually watching the movie! i love that the two stars got together in the end! i thought that the script was not well thought through but it was not that bad in terms well some terms. It was missing the fun when watching this show i didn't see my self laughing and i am a very peppy girl that laughs when i get a good joke or even a stupid joke i would laugh because it's senseless but i didn't do that much through the whole movie. At some points i smiled because of the different scenes but that's all i can say for now i leave the rest to you!!
edwagreen This is certainly not one one of those silly high school movies with nerds, foolishness and mayhem. Instead, it is a serious look at the coming of age among graduating high school students and what prom means to them-not only the fun associated, but it is certainly a coming of age film.Of the variety of stories told among the seniors, the most poignant, of course, is the one involving Nova and Jesse. She is the top student and he is looked up with disdain. When circumstances bring them together, she is able to bring out the better qualities that he does possess. This film is intelligently done and an absolute pleasure to watch. This film is also a coming of age of maturity and even those who might be nerd-like find their way in this very interesting film.
Brandon L This movie could have been better but they did add a good plot, theme, and setting for the story of a high school prom. The directors of this Disney film casted this show properly. For example having Nicholas Braun as Lloyd was humorous. He acted out being a kid who is very nerdy and not able to get a date to the prom, Perfectly! Another good example is Thomas McDonald who played Jesse. He displayed the type of person who changes in a story at first he didn't care about prom at all he felt like it was a waist of time, then he fell in love and made the show a great one that i enjoyed greatly.I would recommend this movie to anyone who is an adult or teen 11-any age.
