fire-58 The start of this movie it could have been something It started out with a decent story, good set up with a million places to go. Then it just keeps getting worse and worse. Each event driving one more nail in to the coffin. It got really weird really quick, the plot starting going all over the place, hard to follow. Is it a dream? is it real, very confusingI think its funny they could not afford jessica alba so they found a girl that kind of looks like her, a little. Im not going to say don't watch this movie. I have seen way way worse, like "I know who killed me" With linlo......that was stupid!
the_wolf_imdb This is THE horror / thriller movie solely intended for the female fans of Sex and the City. Wimpy city girlie that seems to be completely useless in the real world visits the village house which has to be cleaned up for the sale. For reasons completely unknown she decides to do the job herself, maybe because the house is basically already pretty clean. (All the actors seem to be incredibly clean as in the Twilight saga - artificial, lifeless.) She is complete mental wreck that seems to collapse when she sees a mouse or something other horrible happens (like draft closes or opens the window). Even when she is frightened by her own shadow yet she insists that her boyfriend should leave her alone. (She has another, complete different mental issues with him, which are known as a "complicated relationship".) Then the horrible things start to happen. She rides a horse. The takes a bath. The warden cuts off head of the chicken in order to prepare a meal. There is even a really horrifying scene when her sister starts to bleed from her nose. What a shocker! And of course she has dreams and hallucinations, mostly messy and pretty weak. She should take her Xaxax or Prosac and find some nice psychic ward. She needs therapy, seriously. I have seen real people suffering by schizophrenia that seemed to be more normal that she is. Her boyfriend should evacuate this "relationship" at once. He is way too nice to waste his life with such pathetic waste of skin.As for the movie, it is real suffering for anyone who does not live in glamor / completely artificial city world. It is incredibly boring and lifeless.
meccamar A movie has to be really bad for me to fail to see some redeeming quality in it. This is that movie. It has no redeeming qualities. None. The acting is bad. The story (or lack of same) is bad. There is no resolute ending. It is about a woman who must come to terms with a lifetime of night terrors and the cause of them. When her grandmother dies and leaves to her the house where she spent her summers as a little girl, the opportunity for her to deal with her nightmares presents itself. She goes to the house to stay until she can sell it. She transforms from successful business woman to disoriented, annoying screamer as soon as she enters the house. Apparently everything she sees, hears, feels, thinks is symbolic of a childhood trauma. Unfortunately, there is never a foundation developed to which one can relate the symbols. Nothing relates to anything. Nothing makes sense, except we know that she is terrified, maybe guilt ridden from some childhood experience(s). None of her actions are logical, even if you can manage to suspend disbelief, which for this movie is required to even sit through the whole thing. I'd like to see a finished version of this movie, because this version is obviously half baked.
bloomquist_21 Originally, my roommates and I were seeking a horror and a comedy to rent this evening... looks like we got both with "Ring-Around-the-Rosie"... only without the horror!!!!! At the beginning of the film we thought the actress had to be on LSD, and then, before the conclusion we thought maybe it was us for selecting it!!! It was the most incoherent verbal and visual diarrhea we agree we have ever seen on screen. I can see now how her fears were revisited... nature does have a way with scary wind (which by the way never blew out the candles all along her dresser, but some how managed to scatter the photos in her hand and heave her out the open window). After watching the film we found to our "astonishment" that there were no deleted scenes, as they were obviously all used in the film. Those 30 second fillers... we don't know what we enjoyed more- the angry wind, her clinging to the baseball bat like it was a French baguette, or the consecutive flashes of shaking black boots. I don't know about the rest of you movie credits but there has to something scary about a horse standing and a barely sloping hill. We do recommend it though, for any group of people who need a good laugh and a rescue from the reality of real horror flicks. The ones you pay to see. Finally, to add to the comment of an earlier critic... we agree brother... "nope. wrong. all wrong."
