Dead and Breakfast is not some George Romero High budget zombie movie. It is a small fun to watch movie. Now how many other movies can you name that have red neck zombies singing a mixture of blue grass and rap for the final song. This is something that you should go home and watch with a couple of friends and have a good time. If you expect something that will scare you your out of luck because this movie wont frighten you but instead it will make you laugh so hard your pants will cry (If you know what i mean) This is something most teenagers will enjoy and many adults. What you probably don"t know is that you may of seen many of these characters before in other films or TV shows but chances are you wont recognize them at first

As many other people. I dived into this film expecting a full armament of laughter and gore much like Shaun of the Dead (even the film announced itself as the American equivalent, that would be Zombieland). Well, this one only kept half of its promise, lot's o gore and child-like humor (or pseudo-slapstick, pick one).The story line is your formulaic zombie-esque plot, only with a small twist regarding Buddhism. however, some characterization is pretty nice. My main problem, however, is not the plot (given that it was an independent film, and by those standards, the gore was pretty awesome!) but, as stated earlier, it was the comedy. The humor here just falls flat. It tries to be funny, but it fails most of the time. There are Some glimpses in the film that made me chuckle a bit, but nothing too spectacular. I feel as if the film does not know its audience; while the gore and language is obviously for grown-ups, the humor just feels juvenile, with profane jokes running parallel to the more innocent tidbits of childish humor.I would recommend this film Only if you're a gore hound with a low standard of humor and high capacity to accept some crude jokes. I Am aware that this film is not to be taken seriously, but since there is low amounts of humor (that is mostly boring and not fun), what else can one do?

After becoming lost while driving to a wedding in Galveston, six friends—Johnny, Sara, Kate, Melody, Christian, and David—decide to spend the night at a bed and breakfast in the hick town of Lovelock. But their stay is not to be a pleasant one: the establishment's chef is found murdered; Mr. Wise (David Carradine), the creepy owner of the guest house, suffers from a heart attack; and Johnny becomes possessed by the Kuman Thong, an evil spirit that is intent on turning everyone into mindless zombies.Dead and Breakfast displays such a broad range of comedy, from genuinely witty dialogue, to outrageous splat-stick, to the downright surreal, that as far as laughs go, it's very much a hit and miss affair; but although it doesn't always succeed at being 'funny', it's does manage to be a lot of 'fun', thanks to a continuously unpredictable, freewheeling approach that incorporates (badly drawn) comic-book scene transitions, Cat Ballou-style musical interludes, and buckets and buckets of gore (a juicy range of exploding heads, decapitations, and dismemberment).It takes a while to get to the really entertaining stuff—the gory stand-off between the living and the possessed that involves the use of assorted blunt and sharp implements, home-made shotguns and a chainsaw (natch!)—but the film is just so damn quirky that getting there is half the fun.Whilst not as good as Shaun of the Dead (as the quote on the packaging claims), Dead and Breakfast still has enough manic energy and gruesome imagination to keep fans of OTT horror happy for the duration.6.5 out of 10, rounded up to 7 for IMDb.

One of the worst movies I've seen in probably the past 5 years, and it has a higher rating than some decent movies. It bothers me that some people on this site simply throw ratings on movies, it makes it difficult to know which movies are ACTUALLY worth renting/watching. Films on the top 250 list are often only given 7-8 stars because users will give them 1 star thinking that it's "funny". IMDb should only allow users to rate if they have established themselves as credible accounts first!!! Some of the music is lyrically amusing, but the acting is just horrendous and I was very close to turning this movie off several different times.Very surprising to see some well known actors in this low budget thriller. Don't waste your time, unless you need a good laugh!!!
