tom_cavaliere I'm with everyone else who says this is one of the scariest movies ever made. I was 12 years old in January of 75 when this aired and yes, the movie lulls you into a false state of relaxation as the supernatural events are all debunked. After the last commercial, I was all set for the happy ending and the credits roll, then it was off to bed for another day of 7th grade. No one was conditioned for twist endings back then, especially in a TV movie, and then the last 10 minutes terrified me. Yes, terrified, I'm not kidding. I think I slept in my parents room the next week and when they ran it again in the summer of 75 or 76, I would shut the TV off when the previews came on. As a lot of 10 to 15 year olds back then who are all grown up now, it lives on in my memory as a classic.
HumanoidOfFlesh Two airplane pilots are sent to respond to a call for help deep in the middle of Satan's Triangle. They find an abandoned boat adrift with several bodies and just one survivor(Kim Novak). The frightened woman tells Lieutenant Haig(Doug McClure) the details of a dark and frightening voyage into terror as the two spend the night together on the vessel.Unfortunately the sinister tale of Satan's Triangle is linked to the mysterious priest supposedly dead on board."Satan's Triangle" is an eerie gem of early 70's TV-horror.When I was a kid I was fascinated by the mystery of Bermuda Triangle and this film links it with Satanic force.8 triangles out of 10.
mwelsh-6 I saw this as a young adult while in the Army in Hawaii. I was sick in bed one day and stumbled across this flick just as it started. I have always remembered this film because of the ending. When Doug smiled while bobbing in the water, I just about froze with chills. The Marlin floating below deck was trey creepy too. It was the only time I have ever seen this film. This was in 1976 so its been 30 years and I can still see that expression on his face. I've probably seen hundreds of horror films since and forgotten most of them, but Satans Triangle stands out as one of the best low budget creep fest's to date. well done. I miss Doug McClure.
theswmpoolguy I saw this move for the first time in 1975 and lost several nights of sleep. I saw it again in 1976 at age 16 with the same affect. I have tried everywhere to locate it to no avail. The local TV stations could not help (although I don't think they tried to hard.)The previous commentaries sum the movie up pretty well, I don't think my two cents will add much more.I must comment on the ending scene however...pure genius, creepy and terrifying, I still remember that scene as though I had just turned off the TV. I hope we can convince someone to make it available to us.This web sight is very helpfull at least now we have more information on the actors etc. Paul Plymouth Mass U.S.A.
