Horst in Translation (filmreviews@web.de) "Steve-O: The Early Years" is a 44.5-minute documentary from over 10 years ago and it focuses on Steve-O, possible the most insane member from the Jackass gang. Like the title says, the focus is on his early years. Apart from interviews and (of course) stunts by and with the title character, there are also many scenes with other Jackass members and people who shaped Steve-O in one way or the other. However, I need to question the necessity of such a documentary as I have to question the whole idea of Steve-O being famous. The good thing is that if he made it, really everybody can make it, no matter how little talent they got. But is that really a good thing? I am not so sure about that. Doing risky stupid pranks and stunts really should not be considered a talent these, or at least not be considered a talent that is enough to make one famous on a national level. I disapprove and I do not recommend watching this film. Thumbs down.
