silvan-desouza Anees Bazmee was a good writer and wrote several good films like LAADLA(1994) and then he turned to direction with HULCHUL(1995) which was a flop and then he returned in 1998 with superhit PTHHT followed by DEEWANGEE(2002) which did well all being diverse genres but post NO ENTRY(2005) he stuck himself to comedy films aloneSadly his comedy follows the same pattern and now it can bring a big YAWN on your faceThe film starts with this 3 middle aged dudes who can't keep their privates in their pants,Bobby Deol, Irrfan Khan and Suneil Shetty and their respective wives are Sonam Kapoor, Rimii Sen and CelinaIn comes Akshay Kumar in his now famous intro and takes off one girls bra, hangs around in several songs with goris and does the same comedy he has done several timesWhat is different?Nothing ReallyThe film is like a mix of NO ENTRY, SHAADI No.1.etcThe comedy is so horrible that it makes you cringe, The entire KING Episode by Akshay is so far-fetched and strangely none suspect Akshay even though seen him from a close distanceThe film suddenly gets dramatic and that is where it makes you laughThe film ends with a long-drawn forced comedy track by Mukesh Tiwari followed by a sentimental climax which seems forcedAlso for some reason, Vidya Balan is thrown in for an annoying measure, surprisingly in the same month she had a similar guest role in Dumb MARO DumbDirection by Anees Bazmee is bad Music is okay, but too many songs in second half and all picturised on Akshay mainly, even in a sad song of Bobby we have Akshay dancing in between with goris PYAR DO PYAR LO is not as good as the original one from JAANBAAZAkshay Kumar does just another role with same style He ought to change his style soon or else he will have to say sorry Though he stands out among the lot but still needs to change his act Irrfan Khan is the best, he has a natural comic talent and his deadpan expressions are put to best effect, something only he is capable of Sadly he is wasted in this worst film Bobby Deol seems out of place and fails to convince Suneil Shetty overdoes it Amongst rest Rimii Sen matches Irrfan Khan very well and does a good job Sonam Kapoor is a misfit and her dialogue delivery and expressions are pathetic, also she looks dull perhaps because she was sick Celina is as usual, a non actress luckily she disappears Amongst rest Mukesh Tiwari, Rakhi Vijan and Ranjeet have 1-4 scenes Smita Jaykar is good while Vidya is wasted
Ganesh Salian (salianmoviereview) Thank You directed by Anees Bazmee is awful. The writing is amateurish. The screenplay is bad.The music is pretty bad.Story:Raj(Bobby Deol), Yogi(Suniel Shetty) and Vikram(Irrfan Khan) are best friends, business partners, serial womanizers and happily married! Happy, because their lovely wives have no clue that their husbands cheat on them with every pretty young thing they can lay their eyes on. This picture perfect world is rocked when Raj's wife Sanjana(Sonam Kapoor) begins to suspect her husband and hires the suave private detective, Kishan(Akshay Kumar), to tail him. Kishan has built his reputation as a man who saves marriages by getting erring husbands to mend their ways. In this particular case, however, his overwhelming attraction towards Sanjana means he may not be acting in her best interest. What follows is a crazy cat-n-mouse game, with Kishan trying to catch the husbands with their pants down literally and them attempting to just stay outside his grasp.Performance wise-Even though if Akshay Kumar is the lead actor, its Irffan Khan who steals the show. His comic timing is superb.Akshay Kumar is sickening.Suniel Shetty too excels.Bobby Deol is wooden. Of the ladies,Rimi Sen is the best!Sonam Kapoor looks bad and acts horribly.Celina Jaitely does not get scope.Vidya Balan in special appearance is average. On the whole Thank You is a shame in the name of COMEDY!Bad.
saad_khi A dyed hair and old over the hill Akshay! Dyed so black like its a new color! And his voice and dialog delivery is sickening. Pathetic acting like he is being sarcastic! Then you have Shetty with his fish out of water dialog delivery. And Irfan Khan (well, one 'r' is enough) who is one of the most overrated actor. And John Abraham etc are criticized for being dull and bland. Irfan is monotonous and at the most has two expressions and simply drones with the confidence that he has made a fool of everyone in b and h woods! Looks like a dummy in the promos and that extends to the film! Create a montage of scenes from his different films and u will know you are looking at a one dimensional dud! even in his infamous mms he had a blank look! As for the heroines less said the better. Cheap dialogs and the best part was a promo showing (only the) female audience praising the film after a sneak preview! A desperate attempt by Akshay to declare this one a hit like Blue and Kambakht Ishq! Mr Kumar if you are doing characters which are meant to be leave alone in their 20s even early 30s then you don't look it! And that's why your films are bombing! Worth missing.
ankush_jha53 Hail Irrfan Khan and his comic timing. It's not thank you . it's re-entry. Just the same successful formula of 'no entry' has been repeated. While making a lol entertainer it goes beyond it realms and ridicules the sanctity of relationships and marriages. In it's account of relationships it seems to be very one sided. But an objective look at relationship can never be expected from Anees Bazmee. The movie does what was expected from it - makes you laugh real hard. A large share of laughs come for Irrfan's performance. He proves once again his mantle and versatility in acting. His comic timing is phenomenal. The kind which Akshay kumar once showed in Mujse shadi Karogi. But as it has been for quite some time his performance seems repetitive. As for others, bobby acts bad as usual, Suniel overacts as usual again. Sonam kaoor irritates with cardboard character. Reema sen surprises with her quirkiness. Celia jaitley is hardly there. Songs are just burden as usual yet again. The ending goes overboard and tries to make a pigheaded soulless movie into a serious inquisition into relationships and fails miserably. The only low point of movie comes at the end. This movie just belongs to Irrfan's incredible comic timing and Anees Bazmee's ability to pen funny insincere jokes. A timepass. :)
