Bighead55555 I stayed up to 1AM just to see this thing through. My tenacity and dogged determination was rewarded with 95 minutes of overwrought drivel. This is one of those "films" - and I use the term very lightly here - where it's tough to imagine 100+ fellow human beings got up every morning and thought to themselves, "I can't wait to work on this!". Low budget? Absolutely. Horror? Hardly. Paper mache characters, unconvincing acting delivering atrocious dialogue, high-school quality cinematography, and no one will be looking for the soundtrack...ever. Save yourself the time and the headache from gripping your forehead trying to navigate this utter disaster of a cine-mess. Reruns of Leave It To Beaver hold more horror than this...thing.
Michael O'Keefe An After Dark Horrorfest film worth watching. Hope you like them gruesome. THE FINAL has an unpopular high school teen Dane(Marc Donato)fed up with the years of being pushed and shoved around. He convinces Emily(Lindsay Seidel)and a group of other students that have reached that point to finally seek revenge on the so-called "cool" kids that have spent years humiliating them. A wild party is created for invitees only. It ends up with all the bullies ready to "party down" with no limitations. Thanks for the memories guys and gals. The group of outcasts are in disguise as the others, but they are not the ones in chains; and they are wielding weapons. The meek have summoned courage and are ready to carry out their plan of maiming and torture to make up for the years of torment. The bullies are now getting bullied. The gruesome means of torture have been learned in history class and watching horror flicks. See who is crying now! Not for the faint of heart. This is a bunch of sadistic teens getting their revenge. Even I had to turn my head a couple of times...its just that horribly good! The cast also features: Justin Arnold, Jascha Washinton, Travis Tedford, Laura Ashley Samuels, Eric Isenhower and Ravi Silochan.
tdunson513 Ummm, hello IMDb land, am I the only person to notice that 2 of the nerds were killed by the Vietnam vet, and then appear in the next scene? And one even makes it back to school without being arrested? Am I wrong? It was the worst consistency issue I have seen since a Todd Sheets flick. Am I really the only one who saw this flaw? Otherwise it was a good film up until that, I do not know how it got out of post-production with that in it. The acting was good on the part of the nerds, the jocks and pretty girls was paper thin. I just hate to see a nice budget wasted on a horrible inconsistency. One of the worst of the Horrorfest after dark films.
jnash4853 OK, some of you will be offended by my thoughts about this film, and frankly I couldn't care less. Lets get that straight. I was bullied relentlessly as a kid all the way through my high school years for everything from my race, religion the way I spoke the fact that I was a kind of sort of nerd/jock, everything. This movie speaks to a part of me that was born out of that turmoil, a sick, twisted, sadistic side that only my former bullies have seen. Granted I never took it to the extent that the film shows, but I have broken my fair share of bones to drive home the point, that I wanted to be left alone. But I would be lying through my teeth if I said I hadn't dreamed of taking it further, and most of you would be too. The down trodden will always dream of rising to give the wicked their just due.As a theater geek, and aspiring actor, writer, and all around movie connoisseur I was very impressed with the story they were able to tell on a shoestring budget. The lack of flashy special effects creates an aura of realism. As well as leaving the more disturbing bits for your own imagination to run wild. And yes the script could have used some reworking and some of the actors are robotic. Dean could have been much better portrayed but Emily was without a doubt the best performer of the "freaks". The redhead "hot chick" was the best of the victims, she was excellent. The "jock" was the worst, very one dimensional. And more could have been done with the class clown character, the one that got the cattle gun to the face. Really would've liked to see more character development with the "freaks" because this is the type of movie where you almost find yourself rooting for them. A not so stereotypical portrayal of the popular kids would've also been appreciated, but I understand that they had to go with archetypes of these characters. I'd love to see a remake with a larger budget and better actors. The main reason why I loved this movie is because it's a horror movie that can actually happen. Strange creatures and monsters don't scare us any more because we know them not to be real. The truth is now being revealed in this day and age, the only real monsters are monsters of our own creation. For the most part, monsters who bring guns to school to kill their classmates, are created by the bullies who torment them day in and day out. And the school administrators who do nothing to stop the abuse when they see it going on. It's a glimpse into the dark side of the "duality of man" as RL Stevenson(Dr. Jekel and Mr. Hyde) put it. The scariest monster to ever walk this earth is man. And this movie illustrates that quite well.
