adonis98-743-186503 It's been two years since the Hulk has surfaced, and Dr David Bruce Banner is on the verge of curing himself of the Hulk. A device he helped create, the Gamma Transponder, will rid him of his own Gamma radiation, among other uses. Enter Don Blake, a former colleague of Banner's, who is now in possession of a mystic hammer which can summon Thor, an ancient Viking warrior. When the Gamma Transponder is nearly stolen and Banner's girlfriend is kidnapped, Banner must abandon the hope of being cured and rely on the Hulk and Thor to save the day. This movie should been seen alone only because of that Thor v.s Hulk fight scene and i gotta say although Thor wasn't as bad as maybe i thought he was going to be i still felt that they got him very wrong and here's why: First of all he is pretty dumb even dumber than Thor in the first film back in 2011, second his hammer was very small and pretty much everyone could lift it, number three his costume felt more like a Viking Costume, number four he is from Asgard and not from Valhalla and last but not least he is not a Genie but overall the actor who portrayed the famous Marvel hero actually did a nice job, the action was pretty well done and the performances by Bill Bixby & Lou Ferrigno were great!!
Philip King OK let me get the negatives out of the way 1st, what did they do to The Hulks face? he looks odd and not like the Hulk we loved in the series. I know they had to change his hair to cover Lou's new hearing aid but it seems the teeth they used were too big. Plus what happened to the trademark changing into Hulk music? its all some lame orchestral version and talking of the music, it was pretty awful and too loud. Finally whats this Viking posing as Thor all about? No one should be summoning the mighty Thor this way. You'll see what i mean when you see in the movie a guy used Thors hammer to summon Thor like the genie in a lamp. You wouldn't think so by the above comments but i loved this movie, 1st of all after the premature ending of The Incredible Hulk TV series its a big welcome back to David Banner (Bill Bixby), Lou Ferrigno (The Hulk) and Reporter Jack McGee (Jack Colvin), 2nd it's great to see The Hulk moving at normal speed, i mean the slower scenes in the TV series were good but to see him running towards that bad guy, grab him and throw him through the air in real time looks real good. This movie seem ahead of its time, doing what the recent Hulk, Thor, Avengers etc movie are doing, thats bringing together Marvel characters to maybe form a super hero group. This movie has Thor (It also feels like a pilot for maybe a Thor series) and future Hulk movies had plans to feature more Marvel characters. This is the last time we see Reporter Jack McGee. During the series i thought Jack was a pain in the butt to start with then the further we got into the series the more it seemed that Jack was coming around to seeing who the Hulk truly was, after being saved a few times by The Hulk Jack returned the favor by saving The Hulk too (knocked the arm of a policeman who was going to shoot the Hulk and drove his car in front of the Hulk to shield him from getting hit by a bazooka are a couple that comes to mind) and it would have been cool to have finally seen Jack and David sort things out between them.Overall this movie is on par with the best episodes of the series, it may have got 10 out of 10 if it wasn't for those few things i mentioned at the beginning of this and it really was so much a welcome return to the small screen for The Incredible Hulk. This is followed by The Trial of The Incredible Hulk.
Woodyanders Dr. David Banner (an excellent and sympathetic performance by Bill Bixby) joins forces with hearty Viking warrior Thor (a robust and likable portrayal by Eric Kramer) to stop corrupt military man Jack LeBeau (well played with lip-smacking wicked relish by Tim Thomerson) from getting his evil hands on a top secret Gamma Ray transporter. Writer/director Nicholas Corea relates the immensely entertaining story at a snappy pace, makes neat use of plentiful strenuous slow motion, stages the action scenes with flair, and further spruces things up with amusing touches of campy humor (the sequence with Thor visiting a biker bar rates as the definite comic highlight). Moreover, the fine acting from a sturdy cast helps a lot, with especially praiseworthy work by Steve Levitt as Thor's amiable nerdy master Donald Blake, Lee Purcell as Banner's sweet love interest Dr. Maggie Shaw, and Charles Napier as Cajun bad guy Mike Fouche. Of course, Lou Ferrigno is also on hand as the big green guy and Jack Colvin makes the most out of his secondary role as pesky and relentless reporter Jack McGhee. Plus it's just plain fun to see two classic Marvel comic characters together fighting no-gooders in the same picture. Both Chuck Colwell's sharp cinematography and Lance Rubin's spirited score are up to par. Highly recommended viewing for fans of the show.
Pilot_Jetranger I just watched this movie, and was trying to recognize the voice of the announcer, which I determined was Edward Platt. The credits do not list the announcer so I came here hoping to verify my conclusion. Can someone confirm? Overall the movie was entertaining and predictable. There are several problems with the movie:he should have hidden the control unit rather than burning itboth heros seemed impervious to bullets but tranquilizer darts worked - the torn shorts on the Hulk mysteriously became long pants when he returned to be Banner - everything on the Hulk explodes out of his clothes except the top of the pants fit perfectly ... hmmmm
