Reviews

LeRoyMarko Kim Nguyen's Le Marais is a great tale of the good and the evil. Add to that a touch of magic and fantasy and you've got an entertaining film by this newcomer. The story somehow reminded me of the great Of Mice and Men. The photography is nice and it's interesting to see what can still be done with a limited budget. And the performances of the lead actors are good. There's a certain sense of mystery that add to the film. Good to watch.Out of 100, I gave it 78. That's good for **½ out of ****.Seen in Toronto, during Cinéfranco, at the Famous Players Canada Square Cinemas, on March 30th, 2003.
Maria Lantin The visuals of this film alone are amazing. The story is full of emotion relying more on body language and actions than words to portray the characters. Dreamy, sad, magical. Very good acting especially by Paul Ahmarani.
alf6805 The result is impressive for a small budget movie. This movie is not for every one. You must be open minded. I did like the movie because you have to think and watch closely to understand what is happening. The colors are well use. Actors are good. The story is great. Some set seem cheap (low budget). In conclusion: I had a great time watching this movie. I can't wait to see what Kim Nguyen will do next.
jflemay This movie is excellent and extremely well filmed. One of the movies best filmed and photographed I have ever seen. The movie reaches deep into you, the actors, the sets are perfect, the story is beautiful and dark and mysterious. It concerns deamons and human struggles. It is not phony. See it.
