Michael Morrison Yasmine Bleeth is one of the most strikingly beautiful actresses of the last 20 years, and could easily be said to have stolen this movie -- except for the presence of the real scene stealer, Emily Mae Young.Emily Mae is an astonishing find, a very young actress -- age approximately 8 when this movie was made, but playing age 6 -- who had screen presence of someone at least 20 years older.Sad to say, she seems to have done very little since "Undercover Angel."The story is slight, but touching, and doesn't always flow smoothly, but the talent of the two female leads overcomes any possible flaws.Actually nearly all the performers are capable and very watchable, but, as light as it is, "Undercover Angel" is worth watching again and again just to see Yasmine Bleeth and Emily Mae Young, who I hope will come back to show biz.
emmz2510 I bought this movie for one pound not expecting much. Though in the end I really enjoyed it along with two other friends. We laughed and cried. Emily Mae Young is a superb actress shame we don't see her any more, to think what she would have been capable of at 18!!!! The adults actors had a wonderful chemistry with her, which is so often missed in larger budget films, and my heart truly warmed to Harrison's plight with gaining custody towards the end. I feel the movie ended in a whole hearted and interesting way, which can be seen in varying movies such as 'Pearl Harbour' and 'You've got mail' (this film is nothing like these in context). Which thus makes for a truly heartfelt movie. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants their hearts warmed!
rps-2 Why oh why do we keep making such bad movies in Canada. This film is an unoriginal cookie cutter clone of countless similar stories, complete with the unbearably cute kid, disgustingly lovable dog and predictably unsuitable foster father. It's poorly done, right from the opening scene which ingenuously misleads the viewer down the wrong path. This is to film making what a knock off Rolex is to watchmaking. It would be bad enough if a Hollywood film crew made the gratuitious errors in this film. It's unforgivable for Canadians. Child welfare cases are a matter of provincial, not federal jurisdiction in Canada. They certainly are not heard in the Supreme Court of Canada. A Canadian justice (not judge) is not addressed as "your honour" but "my lord." Having James Earl Grey play a Canadian justice, one who is anything but impartial and who is wearing the wrong robes, is just too much. This is a pointless waste of time, effort, money and film stock.
star21 I came across this movie by accident while channel surfing and was immediately smitten by Emily Mae Young. Emily plays 6 yr old Jenny who develops a heartwarming relationship with Harrison - a friend of her mother's - who is babysitting while Mom is travelling in Canada. This film is charming and funny - surprisingly delightful. Wholesome entertainment for the whole family.
