This film is so wonderfull with humor, great music and acting !
It brings you back to great memmories every time you hear a familiar 80's-song :-)
It is very good thought out, the songs, the dancing and staging !
Very English holiday but so much fun 8-)
It's like all the 80's dancing movies (like Footloose, Grease, Dirty Dancing), you can see them over and over again :-) so I do recommend this.

First of all I have to admit I never was a big fan of modern musicals... although surprisingly some I find great (just like Chicago), but this one I could only see as an unplanned parody of the genre... The acting was bad, the singing was worse, the dancing... can that even be called dancing?; the way the songs were introduced in the movie was atrocious, the story so old... and the dialogues so stupid. The reasons why I ever gave it a try? One lazy afternoon after lunch after a busy morning, one lies down on the sofa and everything they broadcast seems to be pure rubbish... I really should have switched off the TV the moment the blond girl starts singing Holiday at the passports control...And yes, I admit I enjoyed the movie laughing at (not with) every line, every dance, every stupid moment in this movie.I think if anyone asks me to describe it with one single word I'd say laughable, not enjoyable as a comedy, not so funny I can't stop laughing... but laughable at

It is a love comedy of musical style. Since it contains some iconic hit songs, some of them might be familiar to you. They can make it possible that you get thrilled by the story much more. Particularly, the relationship of each characters are portrayed uniquely in the drama. For example, a younger sister, the lead character, considers her oldster as trustworthy beloved person, but in the light of her love affairs, she can't help see her sister as a rival. She has been bewildered by such an unstable situation, and in other words, she has been in a dilemma whether she should betray her sister or follow her honest feeling for her ex-lover. Under such circumstance, her old sister, on the other hand, can be both protagonist and antagonist for her younger sister. The fluidity of the character's role sounds very new to me. Over all, story is very dramatic enjoyable, and some well-known songs successfully doubles its feature.

This film is hopelessly twee, predictable, soul destroying and awful. Admittedly I don't like musicals making me biased but even by the those standards this film is painful to watch. That said if you disconnect your brain and just want to watch something quite happy this film might be for you. The singing is OK the actors annoying but I suppose they are doing their job to the best of their abilities. This film is exactly what it appears though, personally I am only watching it because my girlfriend is insisting and I find it cathartic to publish my thoughts on this mind numbingly bad experience..Makes me weep for the species.
