The biggest problem with this show is that it tries WAY too hard to both funny and hip for the kids.Jack Whitehall is an okay actor, but he tries so hard to humiliate himself to get a cheap laugh. To be honest, some of his jokes work, others don't.The episode where he asks a farmer "Do all meerkats come from Russia?" is just so cringeworthy. The students are stereotypes that we have seen in other High School comedies. We have the gay kid, the smart Asian one, the slut, the tough kid and the wannabe rapper. The show also suffers from really annoying dubstep music, again trying too hard to be cool for the target audience. Also, the editing......... dear God, the EDITING! It looks like a child edited this. Jokes have to work because of the timing, but when you have sudden jump cuts between comedic scenes, it doesn't work. But the number one thing I hate about this show is Fraser.I HATE THIS CHARACTER WITH A PASSION!I get that the joke is that he tries too hard to be cool and fails everytime, but he is just not funny. You can't have a character suddenly shouting "REWIND!" and "TOP BANTER!" and expect it to be funny. Its like a child tugging at his or her's parents clothes and saying "Look at me!"This show is like Jack Whitehall's stand up; Only funny in small doses.

Ever wondered why there have been no great British sitcoms to rival the glories of the 20th century? Or no new icons on a par with the Trotters, the Warmington-on-sea gang, the boys from the Dwarf, Victor Meldrew or Tony Hancock? It's simple really. The great comedy writing teams of old were from blue-collar backgrounds. They knew the masses and they knew what made the man in the street laugh. These days, however, TV producers look no further than Oxbridge for their writing talent (if that's the right word). "Bad Education", the life and times of teachers in a modern school, is a prime example of this. The characters are either patronising stereotypes or cardboard cut-outs. The show treats its audience like idiots, relying on swearing and crudeness for its humour ('cos us plebs consider that kind of thing the height of comedy, huh, me old china?) I've no doubt the BBC will try passing it off as "comedy drama", but the drama in the series is so over-the-top it's impossible to take seriously. If you want a TV show about life in a school then try "Teachers". It's a drama series, but it has comedy content which is actually funny and drama which is actually dramatic.

If you haven't watched this then give any of the episodes a go. It is just pure entertainment, there is not supposed to be a point to any of it other than to make you laugh, (which it repeatedly succeeds in doing). It is slick, has fresh tight scripts moves along at a pace and you don't really need any prior knowledge of the characters to enjoy each episode fully. Don't expect the main protagonists to develop over time. This isn't one of these get to know the characters and feel empathy with them over a course of a series things. Ultimately comedy is about making you laugh and this one manages to do that with its absurd set-ups and excellent dialogue. Co-written by Jack Whitehall, he deserves credit for creating something which is very enjoyable.

I will start by saying that I am a fan of the actors in the show, I liked fresh meat a lot it was great and I wish they had continued to make more of them with the same group of people who worked well together. This on the other hand is somewhat poor, the humour's quite weak and just doesn't seem to hit the mark.Other characteristics that annoy me about the show :-1. All the male characters are shown to be complete idiots and are continuously being publicly humiliated while the female characters seem to be shown as "Strong and Stable" types. When I was in school it was the complete opposite so some elements of reality here would of been nice.2. The gags seem to range from unfunny to bad to just wrong. At one stage on the second series the gags run out and they have to resort to attacking a mans genitalia for no reason to try and get a laugh. I'm sorry but that type of humor might work in the US but I would like to think here in Great Britain we are capable of coming up with something better than that. The whole show really does seem to have a feminist vibe to it, which in all honesty is not surprising considering the way the BBC seem to have been lately. I will not be watching it anymore.
