I love Better Things. There is nothing else like it on Network TV. But is it just me, or does there seems to be so little show for the number and length of commercial breaks? Does that mean it's a big hit, that FX can sell so much commercial time? It's excessive though; it's abusive to the viewer. There's a Better Things marathon this weekend, and I tried to tune in to re-watch episodes, but I honestly balked at the number of commercials and turned it off.

pure, beautiful, honest every day stories and yet so artistic and very well written and played. the world needs more of this. this show has made me to look differently into my life and my relationships specially with my mum. its like i have lived many many of those moments that i watch and somebody just shed a light on what has really been happening. so happy there will be a third season. can not wait for it. well done every body. bless you

1) All-female leads: Great 2) Pamela Adlon: Great (kids & mom, too) 3) Long, thoughtful pauses/facial expressions: Great 4) All-male-name leads: Less great 5) Premise: Not THAT crazy about the confused-gender daughter; definitely not crazy about the "Monopoly piece up the vagina" move by youngest daughter (seriously, WTF -- hope that level of crassness isn't permanent, at least not by the younger ones; the rest remains to be seen 6) Overall: Fun to watch, connect with Sam (mom), realistic to a degree, will follow for sure

Gave up on this show after watching 2 episodes. During these 2 episodes, I didn't laugh or smile even once but cringed a thousand times. Every character is awful and the lead character is the worst! She sounds like she has a bad cold and it's like she is trying to remember her lines all the time. Oh wait, those kids were beyond terrible too. And that mom character was equally bad! Forget it, they all suck! Colossal train-wreck of an attempt at who-knows-what!
