Reviews

deelolazjourney First off, great story that had tons of potential but they simply never went there.I suppose I'm not surprised this show only lasted 3 seasons. One of the main actors Lori (played by April Matson), supposedly a teen turned out to be a 25 year old I actually thought was 30ish. She looked way too old for the part.Main character Kyle (played by Matt Dallas) had all the makings of a sexy star, but his passion was flat. It's like he didn't like his girlfriend's character or the actress herself. His kisses were far from romantic and never left us wanting for more. He was also in his 20's, as were most of the teens in this show. If I didn't know better, I'd say he's either a chaste of the highest order, or gay...maybe worried about a real life jealous girlfriend. He just doesn't come off as passionate and romantic.Wasted characters who could have been better played by actual teenagers.
emalga Good idea about the pilot story: Kyle, a regular 16 year old-looking chap, is new to the world, learns everything very naively yet brilliantly and finds the best family one could ever be part of, but WAIT! that's the cute start. As the season goes on, it gets more complicated, mixing bad screenplay, useless supporting cast, science experiments and goofy love-hate relationships between two teen couples. It feels that the term "I want to PROTECT you" or "you'll have to TRUST me" are being told thousands of times (sounds like a Smallville script). There is something wrong with Matt Dallas'old voice for a 16 year old and poor facial expression, Kirsten Prout's terrible acting and ridiculous lines (seriously, WHO would date a nun like Amanda?? a priest??!) And since the show was suddenly cancelled after receiving low ratings, I feel bad for the rest of the cast as they all looked genuine and talented.
andremdg This was an extraordinary series. It had my laughing, it left me in awe and it made me cry. But most of all - I learned valuable life lessons from this. In an oddly way - Kyle made me realise that I also have good in me and that I can use that good to make a difference and change someone else's life. This series was far more than entertainment. I believe in the power of catharsis and this series brought upon exactly that. Thank you to the producers, all the actors and especially Matt Dallas for an extraordinary performance. I don't think I will ever look at him without the respect I got for him earned through the character of Kyle.A life changing must see.
PacNWLady61 My husband and I did not see the series on TV waiting for the next episode. We saw the entire series within just a few days. It was great how things are revealed about Kyle little by little which keeps you interested to watch each and every episode. The cast played their character roles very well. I loved seeing how Kyle started as a baby in teenage form maturing into manhood. I liked focusing on the family on how they handled their situations, especially in relation to Kyle. As the episodes progressed, you could see how the Trager family started supporting each other. You could see how the kids were maturing throughout the years. The only thing I will give a negative review is that I was greatly disappointed by the abrupt ending of the series. I really don't like seeing that happen where the last episode you see has you ready for the next one, but there is no next one. The series should have had a good conclusion.
