Reviews

ralu_mustata One of the best tv shows in the last year or more, great acting, mood and dont let me start about the music, spot on.
johncarter84 I will confess upfront that I am a lifelong Stephen King Fan ever since I discovered Salem's Lot in the local bookstore in the 70's. In a way that raises my expectations for any adaptation of his work. This I feel nails itfor me Having read the Trilogy, the character of Hodges could have been no one else than Brendon Gleeson The other characters are well chosen and matched my idea of what they would be like. The plot moves very slightly away from the book, as with most adaptations, possibly for visual continuity, maybe economic but whatever reason, for me the changes work. Well done on finally getting an adaptation that i was compelled to binge watch and bring on Season 2
acdc_mp3 I was a huge Stephen King fan of his earlier works, but not a fan of the interpretations of his books to the movie or TV screen. I have not yet read Mr. Mercedes, but decided to give the show a try anyway. From the first episode to the last, I was all in. I loved the characters, especially the interaction between Brendan Gleeson and Holland Taylor. I also related very much to Bill Hodges' gruffly angry Irishman demeanor and found myself laughing because I muttered exactly the same types of things he did when I am annoyed. He is actually a protagonist that I root for because he is flawed in many ways. The absolute no-holds-barred disturbing events that happen during the show was something I did not expect, and was pleasantly repulsed and creep-ed out by much of it, which is something at rarely happens to me. Its been a long while that I talked to myself during a show like I have during this one! I love when a show invades my mind later in my day while I am driving or working the way this show did. All in all, it is a great ride so far and I am looking forward to season 2. I cannot even begin to guess how it go. Maybe I will read the book while waiting for it to begin!Check this show out and be entertained.
pgooden I am not a SK fan and don't like the movies born out of his novels - I do make an exception here - The villain was ably portrayed so well that were I working with him I would opt for a different shift - The cop , well underplayed but maybe that was the point but as I read the other reviews they all say the adaption was well done and I think Dennis Lehane, my favorite author very well had something to do with that.
