All Good Things...

Stardate: 47988.0. Shortly after Picard is diagnosed with a long-term, potentially debilitating brain disorder, he starts experiencing bizarre shifts into three main time periods: 25 years into the future, a few days before the Enterprise-D is sent on its mission to Farpoint station, and the present. Picard realizes that Q is behind these shifts through time. Stardate: 47988.1. After his encounter with Q, Picard assembles the senior staff, and wonders if Q is actually giving him a chance to save humanity by showing him that the spatial anomaly also exists in the past. As they talk, the ship reaches the Neutral Zone, then Picard returns to the future, where Beverly's ship is also on the edge of the Neutral Zone. He convinces a reluctant Worf to accompany the group into Klingon territory, and then travels to the past, where he orders the crew into the Devron system.

Torrin-McFinn77 I remember watching a few episodes of this particular show back in my childhood. It seemed interesting if a little complex. And LeVar Burton made a good Geordi La Forge in this series apart from being the Reading Rainbow host. This series felt more animated than its 1960s predecessor and it seemed to have aged well. If only they could put reruns of this show on TV I would love to watch it again and learn more about Picard and the rest of the crew. If I could have one Star Trek of all of them, this would be it. This, the JJ Abrams films (haven't seen the third one), and The Voyage Home. That's what I'll keep.
Rodain Silicon Avatar --Not a very good episode, but even more so because the "so-called" scientist was hell bent on revenge; something that has been told through the annals of history to be an extremely flawed ideology. She completely ruined her science career for doing nothing but fulfilling something she felt her son would've wanted her to do... on that he didn't.Most people will agree with her intentions because we still in a century of having a very primitive mindset. The average intelligent human being today (living in the early 21st century) would have rooted her on like a fanatic football fan with their mouth full of beer and hot dogs. But this isn't today (thank goodness), and what the scientist did is something that a primitive human being (living today) would have done. She was wrong on ALL accounts, and the crystalline entity, for which was not evil nor had evil intentions, was plain and simply "cold murdered".She should not only lose her career, but should be locked up away for life until hers expires, like she did to the defenseless entity that was interested in making contact to perhaps amend for its actions. The entity was not a mass murderer, but she is most certainly now a murder.P.S. Picard was way ahead of the bunch in this episode. My congrats for him being extraordinarily enlightened in the face of adversaries.
Paul Stompbox Even though "Encounter at Farpoint" was boring, I'm glad I sat through it and then watched "The Naked Now" right after. After seeing that episode, I found it super interesting and funny that I had to continue watching the series! The more of the series I watched, the more I got to know the characters like they're my friends! What makes me enjoy the series are the characters, the technology that the series shows, and the interesting episode content. I just don't really have a favourite character of the series because they're all pretty cool! Picard makes a great idea of the leader, and I admire him in the fact that he's got no wife and no kids (I don't want kids either); Riker makes a great and funny young first officer, who also is too sexually attracted to female extraterrestrials; Data is an android who seeks being more human, and really ends up being hilarious; Troi is a great counsellor with her telepathic abilities; Worf is a pretty funny tactical officer who thinks the best way to deal with their problems is by destroying the enemy's ships; La Forge is a pretty excellent ship engineer; and Beverly Crusher makes a great image of a medical officer, who also sometimes has an attraction to Captain Picard and vice versa. I also love seeing all the technology that the series shows, like how the ships work, how Starfleet works, what the Holodecks are and what they do, and many other cool gadgets! Not to mention, the episodes usually are almost always interesting and awesome! The only ones I find boring are "Encounter at Farpaint" and "Darmok". I'd rate this series a 10/10, but I object to one recurring motif in the show: how much it thinks about the value of having kids. This is just a me thing because I don't want to have kids and I'm sick of how people treat their kids like bowling trophies. For example, in the episode "The Inner Light", even though it got to show how Picard would've lived a life where he's a father and not a captain, I thought it was okay, but not the best, which certainly makes me object to how the viewers rate that the best episode of the entire series just because it showed what it meant to have kids and what Picard was "missing out on". Nevertheless, this is one of my favourite series ever and even though is still not as exciting as "Malcolm in the Middle", I think this is the best sci-fi series ever! This series, is Paul Stompbox revered!
Jamespc96 I must say, why do we have be so... Well tired. What happened to our sense of humor? To be fair I didn't grow up on this. I didn't grow up on any Star Trek. I just ask that these people have a conversation. Let's talk about their flaws. One of them has to feel lonely occasionally right? Now I know, Data is an excellent character. He feels that he wants to feel emotion and my favorite episode is the one where he creates his own offspring. The episode is sad and I recommend it. Riker's smile is also a memorable sign of emotion. Everything else feels very monotone. The morals are there and it's cool but it's weird I am all about morals and truth and standing up to inspire but for that to be executed properly we must first explore the bigotry of ourselves. Simply stating a moral doesn't make it good writing. Good writing puts a twist on us. Another thing is the technobabble (I know I'm not a full fledged Trekkie.) Most of the Trek talk probably isn't even accurate so why put so much emphasis on it and just get to the story? I'm not a Trek hater I have my share of likes and this series has some notable entries. The one where Riker is convinced he lost his memory, Picard being there for that kid, the Yesterday's Enterprise. I like the actual character developments not the fake sciences. I mean absolutely no offense good Trekkies but remember a wise saying, "Opinions are like assholes. Everybody has one."
