Reviews

jacobceckley Very promising first season. Pure entertainment value through an honest and unique story about teen love, and the teens actually look like teens! The show doesn't seem to be pushing any particular set of morals or values, it lets the viewer be the judge, which is refreshing to see. James is a budding sociopath, which is not the same as a psychopath. Past trauma put him into an unfeeling state, which is the hallmark of a sociopath, while psychopaths are born without empathy due to their brain chemistry. Had his life continued on the route shown at the very beginning of the show he could have likely become a sereal killer. But then he meets Alyssa. She is the opposite of James in many ways, she is impulsive and emotional, and has her own issues with family and her place in the world. She is chaotic and does not give a damn about a thing. She met James at the right time to steer him onto the path of feeling again. In the process both teens discover new facets of their personalities and the world at large. Alyssa and James go from totally unlikable to lovable and relate-able characters through their experiences in the story, which for me is what makes a captivating story. Side characters are also well developed and have more than one dimension. Sometimes the show leaves me wanting more. Plot holes? yes. Absurdities? sometimes. But no show is perfect. This show isn't close to perfect but it is entertaining and the story seems to have a good amount of heart behind it. I'm in.
ken-tinao Amazing, a thousand curse words there and another thousand curse words here.
rob-lentini Its off beat, weird, gruesome with a touch of black humour. The script is great and each of the actors nailed their pairts, especially James who I expect to have a great career. I really enjoyed the first season, watched the whole thing in one sitting. Bring on season 2, can't wait to see what happens next.
Ersbel Oraph This is cheap, efficient, small cast, low on decors. Sadly it is also slow. And the witticism are so forced it's hard to watch it without skipping often. A nice thing is that the production team usually uses the background as some sort of paragraph in the script, so when the background is changed in the thumbnail you can try your luck with a new set of dialogue. In the end I appreciate the work on minimal budget, but this is not for me.
