Reviews

ergine At first glance Wedding Band seems to have it it all. The concept is great, you even get a few laughs and the cover songs of the band are quite entertaining. But something is missing. The completion of the characters fall short. While others work, most do not. Brian Austin Green in surprisingly good at comedy, but he lacks the proper sarcastic presence required for his leading perma-bachelor character. The biggest shortcoming however is comedic timing and delivery. Great jokes are wasted in every other line. The 40 minute running length of each episode seems to be too long for this kind of comedy. Squeeze is down to a fast 25 minutes, hone your timing and you've got a proper show. The series creators Lobis and Moiselle are still at the beginning of their careers and have yet to find their rhythm. Considering their inexperience this show is more of a hit than a miss.
Brace N Take This series caught my eye and I instantly watch all episodes! Every episode is fun, witty and has cool music. I really enjoyed their cover songs, I could just sing along and dance with it. I told my boyfriend to watch and he liked it instantly too. We watched it twice already! The songs are very up beat and I'm even listening to it now. I like the music, the cast, the story line. Wedding band is one of the great show I've seen beside How I met your mother. Please bring it back! I want more seasons! This is a great show and should be given a real chance. One season is not justifiable. There are so many bands that can relate to this and even inspired others to have a band. I really love this show even if it's long and it actually made me laugh out loud.
masterandoverlord The first thing I'd like to note is that the official TBS storyline says "Centers on the bromance of four likable but occasionally reckless young men..." Um, since when is a 39-year-old man considered a "young" man? That's right Brian Austin Green is every bit of 39 and looks like it no matter how much makeup they put on him. I find it hard to believe that he's supposed to be the stud of the group. He definitely fits as the douche bag of the band. Secondly, the show would actually be more enjoyable without Green's wooden acting. He looks like a giant, ugly puppet on the show. Perhaps he went to the Kevin Costner/Samuel L. Jackson School of Non-Acting. The rest of the cast seem likable enough and don't look 40.
suzcook62 I saw a nice review of this show in Entertainment Magazine and checked it with On Demand. It is funny, trendy and very enjoyable. I have been a Brian Austin Green fan since his days on Knots Landing in the '80s (totally showing my age!); Ha! I was also excited to see Melora Hardin (crazy Jan from The Office) and the rest of the cast is also great. It is getting difficult to find any shows on TV that are not full of blood and gore and this show is simply fun to watch and nobody gets hurt. There also seems to be a nice mix of familiar songs and well as some new, catchy tunes. This is a great show and I am looking forward to the rest of the season and hopefully several seasons thereafter.
