demelzawinters Wow this is actually one of the best movies I have ever seen! I love the acting and the whole cast did a great job to be honest. This movie deserves a higher a rating. It deserves a 10 out of 10. Come on people! I'ma get my whole family and all of my friends to watch it. It's really worth it.
htg_social Well, many people have rated this with 1 star or 2 stars. Being honest, is not THAT bad. I mean, it has many flaws but it is a movie you may actually enjoy or watch while you are doing something else.I came to comment because the special effects are way too bad in a way they are hilarious, instead of special effects they just placed a photoshop picture above screen for example. It is also full of physically impossible things, but hey which disaster movie is perfect.Compared with other chick flicks, or disaster movies, horror films, etc., this film is actually well acted and has a good cinematography, music; it's a shame that script and plot is bad haha.
Gordon Davie A good film makes you care if its characters live or die. With a bad film, you don't care. This film's characters are so obnoxious (especially the teenagers) that I was actually hoping they would die. The fact that some did is the only time this film broke away from the disaster film formula: introduce some people, show the problems they're having in their lives, then hit them with a major earthquake/fire/meteor strike/whatever so that when they come out the other side they realise their problems aren't so important after all. This one ticked all the boxes. I was surprised by the ending, though - there wasn't one. The film just stopped shortly after the hero had apparently saved the day. I was convinced that the TV station had missed off the final reel of the film, but no - that was it. I rewound and there were actually a couple of lines of dialogue to confirm that the plan (which incidentally was doing the opposite of what they had been trying to do five minutes earlier) had actually worked, though they seemed to accept this really quickly, on the basis of a few sketchy reports. Still, if there had been another ten minutes of story that would have been even more of my life that I'll never get back.
Prismark10 Its one of these Syfy channel productions with a cheesy comedy disaster scenario and equally cheesy special effects. There are a series of small earthquakes tearing apart Los Angeles. Two scientists believe that it is all building to a super-quake that will drop the entire city into a lava filled basin. They show this by hitting a hammer on a car windscreen and still having to rely on bad CGI effects for this demonstration to work.An Engineer whose company is responsible for the quakes due to their fracking activities helps the scientists with a bizarre plan to somehow divert the epic enter to a less populated area of LA and save millions of lives. The film starts of slowly enough as the fissures lead to people disappearing in various scenarios although we get an eyeful of some lovely ladies in bikinis. There is some nice location shots of various parts of LA as the film tries to set the scene. However we just wait and wait for the 10.0 Earthquake and get teased with some fault lines here, the Capitol Building being wrecked there but its really a poorly written film with cheap effects and a crummy plot.
