This film actually turned out to be much better, and somewhat funnier, than I expected. Well, not quite because a lot of these films have a few really cool jokes right at the beginning, and then just devolve into a bout of silliness. However, the premise is still pretty good, and I was kept entertained right through to the end, even though it was pretty cliched in many ways, and the ending was pretty much what you expected the ending to be.
So, we have this woman, whose Dad's a cop and she has been riding in the back of the car with him since she was a little girl. Obviously she grows up to become a cop, even though her Dad is probably famous for being the cop that had his daughter ride in the car with him (and there are a couple of pretty cool scenes in that opening part as well). Unfortunately, she is also one of those really innocent people that doesn't understand a lot of slang, so eventually gets herself in trouble and lands up in the evidence room.
Well, the movie starts with this drug lord's accountant wanting to testify and they have to get him to Dallas to appear in court. Well, since his wife is going to be with him, they need a female escort as well, and she ends up being the one picked. The problem is that everything turns sour when a couple of assassins shoot the dealer, and the Federal Marshall, and our friend finds herself having to transport the drug dealer's wife across the state of Texas. To say that she happens to be a handful is a huge understatement.
What we have here is your typical odd couple road movie, which when done well can be a lot of fun. In fact I don't mind the occasional road movie, particularly when it is done well. Okay, there seems to have been quite a few of them being churned out over the years, but that is probably because they work, and work well. Of course they have to be done well for them to work, and while I'd hardly put this film up there with some of the greats, it still has a lot of charm.
Funny, well, I'm not entirely sure about that. As I mentioned, a lot of these films are light hearted and fun, but they generally have the really good jokes at the beginning, and then just settle down into a nice adventure through to the end. In a way it is very rare to actually find a comedy that has you laughing right through, though unfortunately many of these movies don't have a great rewatch value.
In another way, it is sort of one of those coming out films, as they all tend to deal with an adventure that really changes a character. At the start she is very awkward, innocent, and really doesn't understand the way things work, but by the end, after being forced to spend a great deal of time with somebody who is her polar opposite, she begins to learn to relax, and to just go with the flow. Sure, she still has that perky innocence about her at the end, but in a way she has come out of her shell, and understands the world much better.

This movie caught my eye a while back, and when I was browsing through DVDs to rent, I decided to finally watch this. It seemed interesting - an action comedy with two amazing ladies starring. Female led comedies are really fun most of the time, and female led action comedies will always be so much fresher than their male counterparts. The plot of the movie is really thrilling and exciting. Of course the patterns are typical: the two main characters are trying to get away from two bad guys, who still show up all the time and the main characters never seem to get rid of them. That's all very predictable, you can always tell that the two bad guys are going to show up at the worst moment possible. Still the story had amazing and clever twists I did not see coming. Of course there are some weaknesses to the plot. There was that forced romance between Witherspoon's character and the... Did that character even have a name? Nobody needed that!I love the leading actresses in this movie. I've seen Witherspoon in some romantic comedy once while I was in a plane, but I've always wanted to see Legally Blonde, I don't know why I still haven't. And Sofia Vergara is magnificent in Modern Family, and I really loved her in Machete Kills. Hot Pursuit is an entertaining action comedy. It's definitely worth a watch, although I will say this: it could've been gayer.

Reese Witherspoon and Sofia Vegara stars in action comedy about a young female cop who tasked to provide security to a widow of a drug lord as they cross towards Texas amidst crooked cops and murderers that is entitled Hot Pursuit.Anne Fletcher directed this buddy comedy. The film is similar to the Thelma & Louise in the sense that we have two female lead characters who are on the road. But unlike the Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis starrer, this film is definitely lacking in more ways than one.We have a lot of unfunny jokes and a thin plot.Added to that,it presents nothing new as all the elements present in it are definitely going to be familiar for many moviegoers from the similar films they have seen in the past. Too bad that the film did not capitalize on Witherspoon and Vergara acting talents.Basically,it was just a visually entertaining film as we get to see these two gorgeous women for most part of the film and nothing more.

Dear Lord. I don't usually write reviews. But I had to this time to stop you from wasting even a moment of your life. Just stop! Don't watch it. It's like you're telling your ancestors that you don't care what they went through to get us to where we are today. It's awful. Awful. If your girlfriend or wife is still saying, "it can't be that bad."...leave them...forever. Nothing about this movie is redeemable. Nothing. Please for the love of anything pure...don't press play! I know there's nothing about the actual film in my review...and that's because there's nothing to review. Please...for the sake of your children and our future as a species...don't...do not!...press play. It's just SO bad...anyone who actually gave this more than a star..must be related to someone who worked on it. Please help us all if this is where cinema is heading.
