adonis98-743-186503 London is a drug laden adventure that centers on a party in a New York loft where a young man is trying to win back his ex-girlfriend. London stars Jason Statham, Chris Evans and Jessica Biel and somehow all 3 are wasted and now don't get me wrong it truly shows that the actors had worked their roles pretty well but their characters were simply just the stupid drug addict who swears for half of the movie and talks alot plus Statham's wig was pathetic and made him look like a 5-year old. London is not a film that i would recommend to Statham fans. (3/10)
leonblackwood Review: I thought that this was going to be a crime/thriller movie, after looking at the poster and seeing the cast, but it turned out to be about a man who wants his ex-girlfriend back, after finding out that she moving somewhere else. After completing a drug deal with Bateman, played by Stalham, they go to his ex-girlfriends leaving party which is being held by one of her friends. A lot of the movie is based in her toilets were the main character (Chris Evans) is telling his new found friend how he fell in love with his ex-girlfriend and they also talk about there views of life and religion. Near the end of the film, he finally plucks up the courage to go downstairs to the party and confront his ex-girlfriend but after snorting loads of cocaine in the toilet, he has a short temper and ends up in a brawl with the help of his new friend. Basically it's a weird story which dragged in parts and became quite boring. I liked the characters and the concept, but the story hit a brick wall after a while and Luke Evans whining became quite tedious. It was good to see Statham in a different type of role, alongside Evans without his Captain America or Flame suit on but I was expecting a couple of twists along the way, which sadly didn't happen. In all, it's a watchable movie because it shows how people deal with pain after a break up but the script needed work and the drug intake was ridiculous. Watchable!Round-Up: It's always good to see actors star in a low budget movie before they become huge stars. That is definitely the case with this film! Chris Evans, who also starred in Cellular with Statham in 2004, had just started the Fantastic Four franchise before this release so he wasn't a household name yet. He has done some questionable movies in his career, like Push, the Losers and the strange Sunshine but he's always got Captain America and the Avengers to fall back on. Personally I loved him in Scott Pilgrim and he was great in Injustice and if it wasn't for his constant whinging about getting back with his ex-girlfriend in this film, his acting was emotional and quite impressive. Statham has gone from strength to strength since this film. He has become an action hero in Hollywood and his movies seem to make quite a lot of money at the box office. He was sporting a strange haircut in this movie, which made him look like a right boffin and he couldn't help kicking a few people's butt once he got confronted in the party. There are a couple of other famous stars in the film, like Jessica Biel (London), Isla Fisher and a brief appearance by Dane Cook, Kat Dennings and Paula Patton so the director had a good cast to work with. Anyway, I'm glad that I watched the movie because it's always good to see how much these actors have progressed, but I was expecting something completely different.Budget: N/A Worldwide Gross: $20,000 (Terrible!)I recommend this movie to people who are into their dramas about a man who realises how much he loves his ex-girlfriend after finding out that she is leaving to live somewhere else. 5/10
Lisa .... is what disappointed me most about this movie. The dialogues COULD have been fun and surprising and with an original twist, but no, the conversations in the bathroom are all predictable and superficial. The acting didn't always convince me. When the drug dealer tells his secret and gets Really Angry, I couldn't seem to forget he was just acting. It just wasn't real. Although he was trying really hard :-) Still, I give the film a 6, because there are a lot of movies that are way worse. For a fun dialogue-movie, I prefer (just giving an example here) the movie 'Clerks', or 'High Fidelity'. Movies without the drugs and alcohol and an overdose of cursing, but a lot more entertaining and original. And after changing this review ten times because of 'prohibited' words, I hope it will be sent through now...
djgold_1999 How shall I start this? The reason I rented this movie, was due to Jessica Biel. I know she's a very attractive woman, but when I rented it, I never got a chance to see the movie. It came on Encore, and it was at 1 of it's peak moments, luckily Encore played it once more 1-2 hours later. Saw it, completely. The movie, in my opinion hits reality on a lot of points. The stars in this movie, are known for action, comedy, or horror like genres. Anyone who views this movie and has experienced a "true social life" or ever been in "love", will understand it.The performances were "beyond brilliant"; don't care how that sounds. The acting for a low-budget, not-so famous movie, were marvelous. I think at least 1 out of 3 main actors should've received nominations for something within this movie. The movie, is a must see. It does have replay value and please people, " stop the fantasy romance movies for a date "; certainly NOT "You've got mail like crap". This movie, if you're going to watch it on DVD, you must have girls and guys both together in a room or at least have your mate with you.Jason Statham, should do more movies like this. His Arnold like personality in his action movies, make him look really primitive. Soundtrack is also, very catchy and moving. If I didn't like this enough I wouldn't post on here or put in 1 of myspace.com bulletins. Thank You reading.
