rockclimbergrl13 OK so I feel the need to defend this movie a bit. When I saw it i think i was about 8 or 9 or something like that. Maybe 7. I don't know. But whatever it was I was in LOVE with Lizzie McGuire. To me she was this amazing girl who i could look up to, who was always put together well, who had 2 amazing friends, who never had any problems that didn't get resolved in 30 minutes. (I WAS A KID.) So when i heard the series was ending I was heart-broken. And then I see a preview. A MOVIE?!?!? One more chance to see my favorite real TV star in action? THANK YOU GOD! So i went and i absolutely, totally LOVES this movie. A couple of nights ago I'm flipping through channels and I happen to come across Disney channel. They're showing this movie. I decide "What the heck? I loved it years ago." And I realized something. My mom must have unending patience considering how many times i made her sit through this movie with me. I couldn't believed I ever liked this movie. Its so cheesy its scary, Lizzie looks like an idiot, that one guy everyone has a crush on (name?) looks ugly as sin, and Gordo... don't even get me started. Plus the entire time, this figure as a little girl i had LOVED is acting like a total idiot. Why did i never notice? Lizzie is such a bimbo! Christ! I mean Gordo OBVIOUSLY likes her, and the Spanish singer OBVIOUSLY is a lying bastard. And the ending? Just... wow...So I guess it all depends on your age. If your a little girl you're going to love this film, more than likely. Older person? You will either hate it or laugh your ass off at the cheesy-ness of it.I'm rating a 6 purely for my old love.
xoxcaitlin_kissxox I can honestly say this movie is downright awful. The story is stupid an not entertaining (Not a stretch, for those who've seen the show). All the characters are weak and underdeveloped. Hilary Duff is a terrible actress. Every character she takes on becomes annoying, prissy and ditzy. The script has no spark to it whatsoever. This might be enough to keep a first-graders interest, but not for me! This has the quality of a Disney channel original movie,or maybe a direct to DVD movie. The soundtrack is pathetic, jammed with unmemorable pop songs and Hilary's vocal talent ( If you want to call it that). Your gum-smacking boy-crazed preteen daughter will be engrossed by it. But for those of us wishing to spare brain cells, pass this one up!
Richard Wheeler In the year 2003, I heard of this film when it went on circuit in South Africa but I never had the time to watch it! But last week, I got the chance to watch it on t.v and WOW! It brightened up my day when it was dark and gloomy outside. The film showed how much people from reserved countries such as America, South Africa and England ,etc but Americans at most are reserved and the Italians are afraid of those who are cold and reserved! Especially when Mrs.Ungermeyer meeting Paolo when he believed Liizie to be Isabella, she was very cold to him. Also what we think in our heads in a colorful way! I Liked the animated Lizzie when she thought before she acted . That was RADICAL! The sweet, light-hearted dance music which comes from Italy. That blew my mind! I loved that dance music. It made me want to get up and dance!! And , of course, the movie also showed the beautiful background of Italy and the wonders and beauty of love and romance.I love this movie to bits!!!!!!!!!!
dy158 Hilary Duff has always been one of those celebrities I like in terms of the teen acts out there, given the wholesome factor she has (hope she stays that way). Been a teen myself also, I am always very happy to see such people like her in the Hollywood scene. So it's not surprising I did saw this movie where she is the main character...like duh, Lizzie McGuire. I am aware of the Disney TV series but then I never got the chance to watch before. But still, the movie is enough for me to watch. Definitely very wholesome and one for the family.Lizzie (Hilary Duff) had just graduated from junior high school and she's on her way to Rome for a two-week holiday trip with her classmates. In Rome, she was being mistaken for an Italian pop star Isabella. It was Paolo who explained to Lizzie about what is really going on. It turns out that he and Isabella are a pop duo in the Italian music scene and Lizzie turns out to be almost looking like Isabella. But the problem is, Isabella is not around and a music awards show is coming up and so Lizzie is being roped in to be 'Isabella' for the ceremony.Comical scenes soon ensued and the various sights and sounds of Rome as well. Also at the same time, Lizzie's friend Gordo is trying to express how he really feels for her. When at the airport (where he was ordered to be sent home), he saw the real Isabella. Soon he and the real McCoy hurried to the awards show where Lizzie and Paolo were already there to meet the fans. The fans are actually not aware that Lizzie is not the real Isabella though.Just minutes before the ceremony began, Gordo and the real Isabella appeared. Lizzie was confused for a moment before she knew what to do after Isabella's instructions. Everything about Paolo was revealed there and then before the performance. This is what dreams are make of...for those who dare to dream, believing in yourself is all that matters in the end. I know this movie is not meant for the Oscars, but as this is something for the Hilary fans and those who like some good-old wholesome fun at the movies as well.
