cyberjoshy-49579 What a pointless and useless copy of the animated version of the same movie. Besides a few new songs nothing has been added or changed. Every character, line of dialogue or even the shots/camera angles comes from the animated version. On top of that i found this version of Belle very unsympathetic. Her change of heart over the beast was even more unbelievable than in the previous version. Same goes for the change of the beast. 1 moment he is a brute and the next he suddenly remembers his manners. If there was ever a prime example of what a cashgrab is, this movie is it.
jipjannebet I loved it.At first I was sceptic, because I loved the original movie and I did not think it was in need of a remake. But I enjoyed every minute of it. It really brought beauty and the beast 'alive' for me. If you like Disney movies you really must see this one. Bravo.
Aasemoon It took me a while to find the guts to actually go ahead and watch this one. I loved the 1991 version as a kid, and I was really quite afraid that the new movie would completely ruin the magic. Especially given some of the reviews. Now that I finally have done it, I'm happy to say that I am not disappointed at all.Good story telling, good acting, and quite the appropriate amount of cheese. The movie stays entirely faithful to the original story, for which I'm really glad. It's also such a treat for the eyes and the ears that for this alone I think I'll be watching it again.
MJB784 I was very disappointed. It was too slow and serious with phony dancing and unemotional characters who don't read the lines in the form of a sentence or lyric very well. They're pausing and acting so laid back at the emotions in the movie. The best parts were the scenes that didn't copy the far superior cartoon.
