Reviews

missypowers I read these reviews a few days ago but today, they went right out of my head when I chose to add this series to my Amazon Prime viewing. The acting was great but the story became more and more convoluted and confusing as each possible answer to the mystery was rejected. It is not a spoiler to tell you that, unless they have another season int he works (unlikely as this series is from 2014) you will be left hanging. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME.
trepessa I gave "Amber" a higher score than some. I have watched this twice and from what I can tell, someone snatched her between where she got off the train to where she was walking to catch the other one going back because she missed her stop. There is no way to know who but the last scene made it evident she had died. The fact that her light was found in the river only reinforced the idea she had been murdered. No young girl should go by herself anywhere in any country these days. The acting was very good and the idea of the story good but the use of the flashbacks is getting tiresome to most people these days like found footage. I believe the intention was to write more episodes so they left everyone with the semblance of an ending left to one's own imagination. The father character was the only one I didn't like. He was a bit over the top and totally unlikeable. Therefore, he was a character that didn't arouse sympathy for his reaction to his daughter's disappearance. The actor was good but I didn't like the father characterized as a totally self absorbed bad person. He did with his zealousness, help find other girls who were still alive by what he did but he was far too impulsive; over the top for my tastes. This show should have been continued and time and time again I see networks in various countries making a mistake by not continuing a story and this is one that falls under that category. I don't think it is a waste of time watching the show because I believe they didn't necessarily write it about the missing girl but how her being missing impacted those related to the issue. It's not that long and not a waste of time. Dramatically I thought it superb but frustrating because of too many flashbacks and no real conclusion since it was not continued. If you can live with these things it is worth watching.
HeidiELove Amber is an Irish crime drama series created by Rob Cawley and Paul Duane and directed by Thaddeus O'Sullivan. The series stars Eva Birthistle and David Murray as parents of a young teenage girl who goes missing,Each episode of 'Amber' focuses on the perspective of one individual connected to the case, including Amber's family, friends, and complete strangers who become drawn into the quest. I was glued to this TV Show from start to finish. It was filmed over a 2 month period. It is a powerful Irish Drama with fine Cinematography and Editing. It keeps you hooked until you figure out at the very end - what happened to Amber…… but then the ending is slightly flawed leaving an audience saying "What the F***"?
groovymack2005 I have to say the acting was brilliant and great idea for a show but it dragged on far to long going back and forth to Day 1 or Day 48 etc.. 4 nights of watching!!! It should have been edited down to a 2hr show " with an ending"!!!! I mean WTF??? The disappointment last night with the last episode.. Sorry RTE but it wasn't cool just really annoying.... I know some people will argue that this is what happens in real life but this is meant be a show??? entertainment on the telly.. We see enough depressing stuff on the news or in the newspapers every day of the week.. If I wanted to watch something like that I'd watch a documentary or PRIMETIME!! Enough said.. RTE ye need to do better We paying huge money through TV license which is a joke as I hardly ever watch RTE!!
