Dark_Lord_Mark This show was a staple of Channel 11 in NY in the late 90's on the weekends. It was fantastic, Nick Knight is a vampire cop that hunts criminals, some like him, some human. The episodes were well written and filmed with a dark ambiance reflecting the series theme. It similar to Highlander with the character being immortal, but this was less goofy and serious toned. It had some memorable characters like his partner Skanly. Him and Nick's relationship was great. They played off each other perfectly, one serious, one a trouble maker, but both good cops doing good. This was fantastic and one of the great shows that reminds me of the 80's TV shows. They DO NOT make them like this anymore. This was a guys show, for when networks cared about guys. This is perfect for men and a must watch for people struggling to find good shows to try.TEN OUT OF TEN!!!!
Jahfet After all the rave reviews I decided to give Forever Knight a try. I liked the concept and the actors, but after five episodes into the first season, I couldn't get one thing out of my head: how dd Nick become a cop if he's a vampire? I mean, don't cops have to undergo training of some sort? How could he have accomplish all of this if he's "allergic to the sun"? I understand them making him work the night-shift as a result, but to become a cop means undergoing certain physical and educational procedures (not sure the sunlight excuse would fly in this case). I know this is fiction, but the story needs to be believable to some degree for me to keep watching. Maybe it was explained later on, but after five episodes, I had enough. Shame, because I really liked Nick.
ladymidath After watching Buffy and Angel, I started watching an late night offering called Forever Knight and became instantly hooked. The characters and situations in this series are both intelligently written as well as being highly entertaining. This series is what Buffy and Angel tried to be but could not. With unforgettable characters such as Nicholas and LaCroix, all other vampire shows pale in comparison. The complicated relationship between LaCroix and Nicholas, his errant 'son' is what really makes this show work. As sad as the ending to this excellent series is, it was handled well. I am only sorry that this series did not go on for longer.
knightfilli Forever Knight is a show about a vampire cop. But don't stop there. If you do, you will miss the great writing and acting that made it so much more. The depth of the characters and the stories is tremendous. It is a great show for those who are into vampires and even for those who are not. Sadly at this time it is not on in reruns but there is hope. If you get a chance to watch this show, do so, you will not be disappointed.
