Reviews

Forensicpsycho Just a couple of comments for michaelrocks68, whose review was negative... If you had stuck around to see the entire series, you might have changed your mind. The series is entitled: Invasion America, not America Invasion and if you really thought it was so dull, I recommend you read the books written by Christy Golden. They are fantastic and as per usual, out do the film work... hands down!! If you're looking for innovative animation, you might start with Titan AE. The animation is wonderful and a seamless integration of 2D and 3D adds some fascinating realism. the story is fantastic and the characters have depth! I still think Invasion America deserves two thumbs up!
YouKnowMyName68 I remember when this was being touted and praised for being groundbreaking or lines along this on TV guide and that this was a work produced by the great Steven Spielberg. Hmmm. I was very excited about, 1. Evening Animation show! 2. Genre: Science-fiction, action and 3. Finally, variety of evening programs just like in Japan, where they have movies featuring live filmed actors and then there are the animation shows they have: So much variety, so much inspiration, all manner of quality. So, when this American Invasion aired on Channel 4 or 5 here in California, my anticipation disappeared as the look of the dull animation combined with the familiar dull story and just the monotony of it, it no longer held my interest and it is a false hope. Nothing for me to see, moved right along. It isn't anything. Nothing innovative. Just big hype announcements and a name behind it, but for me, again, nothing there.
Quantamm Invasion America was the first prime time animated dramatic mini-series, but set itself apart in more ways than that. Produced by Steven Spielberg (E.T., Jurassic Park) and Harve Bennett (Star Trek), and voiced by Timothy Daly (From the Earth to the Moon) and Leonard Nimoy (Star Trek) it set new standards in animation, science fiction, and dramatic story telling. In the six, forty-five minute episodes it takes time to tell the story from the first book (of five?) there are a few spots where the dialogue could be better, or where the plot could be stronger, but these are few and far between. The story ends strong with a few good strings where the next story will pick up. Overall an excellent mini-series!
mckitlk I seldom watch TV, but this show really captivated me. I made a point of seeing every episode. Now, almost a year later, I'm still involved with it.DreamWorks did a fantastic job with it. I really hope they'll give us the rest of the story -- there are so many unanswered questions!
