Reviews

Yeam K So, I started watching this late (2012). I'm an 18 year old girl and a huge fan of Demi, but I wasn't really expecting to laugh that much or like it. I used to watch Hanna Montana when I was younger and I loved it but it never got me hooked. With this, I was hooked. The pilot wasn't bad but the second episode was brilliant. I was literally in tears the whole time and I had to go back some parts and watch again, I just had to! The Goods:1. TheComedy isn't just for little kids, actually I think it's a very 'grown up' show. I mean, I taught a Disney show would be suitable for a 12 year old not me, but I was actually enjoying the whole thing. It's a nice feeling to watch a clean yet funny show. (Like if you watch 2 broke girls, that's a dirty kind of funny. I love both shows, a lot.)--So, I think every age can enjoy this. Specially over 16!2. Demi Lovato --She is a funny person herself but she is so natural in this. Sunny is the most likable character in a show I've ever seen. She's funny, sweet, stupid at times but yet very smart, stubborn, and she just wants to do the right thing which ends up badly every time. she is real, I feel like Sunny and Demi are the same person cause she plays sunny so naturally and I love Both.3. Other characters --Sometimes the two boys annoy me a bit. Zora is so funny but some times a little annoying as well. I LOVE Marshal, he is such a loser it's painful to be him but yet, he is indeed a nice guy. I love Dakota, she's so cute and the little girl is really a good actress. The Teacher is average, I don't really like Sunny's mom and then there's Chad... He is so easy to look at, so cute. He is funny, suppose to be annoying and self centered but I can't stop smiling and loving him! Maybe it's Sterling, I don't know... He is my second favorite character after Sunny. And Both of them together, OMG.4. The customs : don't really like Tawni's clothes but Sunny's clothes are so amazing. Pretty much everything she wears, I want. The shoes are amazing as well. I really like how they know the characters so well that they never miss an outfit. The clothes always work! Specially Sunny's. (Demi wears them well! :D)5. The check it out girls! You have to watch for them, they come I think in episode 4 of season 1 and they stick with the show till the end, I'm so happy they do.I think this show is Funny, positive, cute, addicting, charming, likable, entertaining (Not just by being funny, it has music, fashion, guest stars, events happening that are so crazy!) and it's really a good show. I understand if people say the acting isn't that good, but that's what makes it even better! Trust me, it won't bother you. Demi (Sunny) is the best actress then Tiffany (Tawni).Give it a try, it's a change for someone who is not used to Disney channel shows. Clean, innocent and funny! Check it out.10/10
american-beauty60 Well, many of my friends kept telling me about how amazing this show is and I did not want to believe I would enjoy a cheesy Disney production anytime. Anyway I decided to try so I went to SonnyWithAChanceLand's Channel on the "You Tube" as my friends told me and I have to say I wasn't just surprised I was actually shocked. I couldn't believe it is a Disney show. I even went to its Wikipedia page to read more about it and was pleased by the high No. of viewers and the wild popularity of the show. Then I came here using the link and I can't believe I am writing a review about it. Disney has done a great job in hiring all these new kids to their payroll. They really have some quality people working there. This show does not only have talented cast, clever scrip, hilarious jokes, shinny set, it also has a breathtaking romance between the very cute Sonny Munroe and the extremely handsome Chad Dylan Cooper. I am so proud to say I am the biggest Disney fan from now on. I might even start to watch its new shows like "Good luck Charlie" and "Shake it up" although they don't really look as charming as this one. To be honest, I already have watched some episodes of the famous Hannah Montana and Wizards of Waverly place on mbc3 TV channel before. Both weren't bad but weren't good enough either to keep me watching. They have made me get the wrong idea of Disney cheesiness ever since. But still as I said they not bad at all for kids. Finally, this show will amaze you in every aspect except for its 1st and 3rd episodes. They were average. As for the rest, you'll never be disappointed.
Nicky I've been watching the show for more than a year now, and I love it! It's so much fun. And the episodes just keep getting better! I love Demi Lovato, and she is very funny, the character Sonny is very different than any other character on Disney which is good. Tiffany Thornton is amazing. Tawni is really a character that we should hate, but I actually love her! She is very funny, and Tiffany did a great job. Sterling Knight has also done a great job, he's a good actor, but not as cute as everybody says. Doug Brochu and Brandon Mychal Smith are hilarious, I enjoy their adventures! As for Allysin Ashley Arm, she is good, but Zora is so annoying, though sometimes funny. The only thing I don't like about the show is that they made Sonny a singer, too! I mean, Demi is a great singer, and I love all of her songs, but I was hoping that they wouldn't turn Sonny into a singing star, as they do with everyone. So that's why I give the show 9 out of 10. Otherwise, perfect. Can't wait for the new episodes!
DiamondGirlfl I am sure there are lots of "Sonny" fans out there...who tune in every day to watch her attempt to be hilarious while she interfaces with the other characters on the show. But...frankly..after watching just an episode or two of this mess...I almost cringe when the kids in my family grab the remote to watch it. Ms. Lovato may be talented..by Disney standards...she is wholesome and sweet smiling...but..how much of that is too much? She acts brainless in too many of her scenes...while the rest of the cast doesn't seem to have many brain cells either. It is suppose to be a "show within a show"...cute idea for the most part..but do these kids ever actually go home? Where is home anyway? Apparently, the set is their entire world and they do NOTHING else that is interesting. The main characters...Sonny and Tawny do not like each other much...(well..Sonny tries to like EVERYONE..it is not in her syrup sweet nature to be rude)...but they are thrown together over and over by the people making the shows they are on. Craziness ensues...wisdom..we hope...is learned somewhere along the way too. Demi Lovato spends so much time grinning that HUGE grin...surely her face must hurt at the end of a filming day. We are suppose to believe these people are in Hollywood to do a popular TV show...but the sets and acting is anything but professional...it would be a show that might make it on local cable access TV...we cannot believe it is a BIG SHOW and these kids are BIG STARS. The snobs are different than Sonny or course...there has to be that in a Disney show. Opposites attract? You just know at some point Sterlings' character who is a snob from "Mackenzie Falls" is going to fall for the good girl..Sonny and not the snobby Tawny...it is just a matter of time...the quick moments of flirting already is happening. How predictable. The teen girls of Disney are all from the same mold and it is a shame that a creative company like Disney cannot create something more fresh and original instead of trotting out more of the same. They are all cute, talented and carbon copies of each other in many ways. How boring.
