Reviews

leighabc123 The first season of the Parkers was the best season! The show went down just like most other black sitcoms. Those "very special" episodes, such as the episode where Chilli from TLC had HIV and Nikki found out that she was adopted were not good and ruined the fun of the show. It was funny when Countess Vaughn acted stupid. Very few people know that one of Countess Vaughn's boyfriends on the show was on a short lived sitcom called "Homeroom" when he was little. But when she acted serious, then the show was not funny at all. Also the series finale was so predictable. Everyone knew since the first episode that The Professor was going to marry Nikki Parker. That whole entire plot was stolen by "A Different World." It would have been neat if the ending would have been like "Who's The Boss?"
cheryldbrown I think today's episode was very degrading. The professor has disrespected Nikki for 5 years and when she finally meets yet another man who respects she once again drops him for the professor. I have forbidden my young daughter to watch this show in syndication because it degrades women. Nikki's character was that of a strong black woman yet she accepts a man who has publicly humiliated her over and over. She should have told him it's little too late. The professor actions has suggested that he thought Nikki was beneath him and the only reason he showed up at the wedding had nothing to do with love but his ego. If Nikki had married the other guy then it would have sent a message of self worth not degradation. I absolutely hated the way this show ended. I never found it funny the way Nikki chased the professor. What self-respecting, black woman would continue to pursue a man who totally disrespected them repeatedly? Only a woman with low self esteem. Thumbs way down for the series finale.
owensmith If your looking for an intelligent or funny show THIS SHOW IS NOT FOR YOU. Each episode is poorly constructed, consisting of terrible "jokes" (if you can call them jokes) and even worse plot lines. The creators attempt to pull you in, but at the end you realize you dont give a DARN about the way these people's live turn out. The actors in the show are the supporting actors from the B-List show Mowesha, so you can be sure that they wouldnt last 1 second in any real theatre, let alone a show created for who knows who. This show doesnt seem to have a propor demographic, the characters seem to go to a college, but dont even have the IQ's to be a janitor in one. All in all, i suggest that if this isn't the only show on, watch somthing else, and if it is TURN OFF YOUR TV and curl up with a good book. I give this show a big 0 out of 10.Owen Smith
gluba2000 Each episode is funny. Especially with Nikki always trying to get with her "boo" Professor Olgllevee! This show is non stop fun, and laughs, whereas the show it spun off from, Moesha, was more of a dramaty. Moesha and other character from the show have came over in various episodes. If you want a good laugh, definetley turn onto The Parkers!
