Set against the backdrop of a hit dating competition show, "UnREAL" is led by Rachel, a young staffer whose sole job is to manipulate her relationships with and among the contestants to get the vital dramatic and outrageous footage the program's dispassionate executive producer demands. What ensues is a humorous, yet vexing, look at what happens in the world of unscripted television, where being a contestant can be vicious and producing it is a whole other reality.

matthijsalexander From the cow, Season 1. 8. Fresh, refreshing, new, daring. Season 2. 6. Fresh milk became older. Looses taste. One knows, expiry date is near Season 3. 4. It has become a think lump of sour milk, undrinkable, indigestible.
reddawn329 I love the dark twisted characters and their selfish motives. Makes the show unique! Rachel is such a mess. One minute I'm laughing & loving her antics, the next I'm yelling at the screen that she needs to stop blowing up her life and others. I love seeing her at the cabin and know it won't last long. But she needs the break to quiet her mind. Quinn finally releases her selfish hold on her. It's a healthier layer to their relationship. Quinn's character is fabulous. She's so damaged under that tough exterior. Her dialogue is so authentic and fabulously crass! Props to the writers. Season 3 is all about her gaining power and controlling her life. No more men dictating her career and love life. By the end, she's making decisions for herself. Knocking on the door was her choice. She finally feels secure in life & career. I have always secretly hoped Jeremy & Rachel would grow their relationship to be healthier but that would be boring. It's actually genuine that he walks (drives) away. Or does he? I didn't like the therapists love confession. It just wasn't believable. I would have written that scene differently. But it plays to how Rachel 'produces' every guy in her path. Her unhealthy sexual behavior & choices are the core of her damaged psyche. She's child-like in some aspects. Which makes sense once the show reveals the molestation & rape she endured at age 12. Not many shows portray mental illness, specific bipolar disorder, realistically. These writers dive deep with both lady's character. We need more of these types of characters in movies and on TV. Maybe writers can dive deep with Jeremy and Jay's psyches in s4. The preview of s4 looked awesome! I hope it airs this Summer, not in the Fall. I don't want to wait. I wonder if s4 will be the series end??? I love the 'All Stars' theme! It's going to be great. I hope Jeremy returns. Rachel can also have a fun dynamic with Charlie. Quinn holding a toddler?!?!? Is he Chet's son? Did they adopt? Is he an All Stars kid? Loving Rachel's highlights too! Can't wait for season 4!
sullivanday Sort of a degenerate parody of insipid U.S. reality shows. The Bachelor is bad, but this is worse. Endless profanity, sexual titillation morally bankrupt characters. Represents well how bad culture is today in the U.S. And Quinn? Truly awful to watch. No redeeming value whatsoever. I only sort of watch because my wife watches it! I have only seen part of season two. Do people believe that any of this represents real people? Danger is that people will think that this sort of stuff actually happens. Good lord I hope not. Almost impossible to find uplifting TV these days. I fear more shows like this will be made, however. Depressing.
ccwe This is a phenomenal show that just keeps getting better. I'd say the smartest thing they did with this show is to have multiple story lines merged together. If you ever get bored of one character's story (which I have yet to do) you see another one's. The characters are so well developed and the drama is enticing. Even the temporary cast (the contestants) have intriguing stories. But the women who run the reality show have stolen my heart. Strong, powerful, smart women in charge makes this show actually female-friendly compared to the type of show they produce. I'm not a fan of reality shows but this almost satirical take on them is my new guilty pleasure. The second season, without giving any spoilers, was incredibly woman- powered and strong-female centric. I hope this show continues to succeed because the actors/actresses, producers, directors, writers, everyone involved, are all doing a tremendous job.
