This is a great movie. It is very scary. It has great special effects. It also has a great story line. It also has great acting. 5.2 is a good ratting. But this is such a great movie. That 5.2 is underrating it. This movie is a 9. It is one of the best horror movies of all time. If it does not scary you no movie will. It is a very scary movie. See this movie. It is a great movie. Great movie great movie great movie great movie. See it see it see it see it see it. I need more lines and I am running out of things to say. I didn't know this was based on a video game. Or was the video game based on this movie? Doesn't matter to me. I won't buy the video game and I also could not watch this movie all the way to the end. Yes, it was that bad. What I did see was bad dialogue, decent makeup, lots of blood and acting like they did no retakes. I found myself skipping ahead several times to the action scenes. This was because what the main characters had to say wasn't important. Are they ever important in zombie movies? Skip this farce and do something, anything else. Like read a book. NO zombies! :)

I find too many people have too many expectations for films. When that happens they forget to watch something objectively and not mix in what they expect to see from a film exactly the way they want to see it. This can in all actuality never happen! Too many people are also far too often mistaken by the genre of the film. Like with this film here, many seem to expect to see an epic ultra high budget video game adaptation made as a super serious thriller. But this is clearly not what was intended here. This film is self conscious about its humor, storytelling, action, acting and its budget. Truth be told, I saw this film with a good friend just now and I have to say that we are very critical. But we both found this film very clear about what it was trying to do. This film is very entertaining and a lot of fun! They have done a great job at doing the best they can on a lower budget. Overall good acting, good directing and good writing! Also the technical side of the film is very pleasant. Good camera-work with a lot of creativity which keeps you interested. It all is put together with good editing. All in all, A lot of fun!

It would've been difficult to place a whole movie inside a mall and make it interesting enough ... oh wait: Dawn of the Dead already did that and succeeded! Which might have been one if not the main inspiration for the video game "Dead Rising" (there have been a couple of "sequels" to the original game up to this moment).Like the games you can assume that there will be more movies. Especially if they are successful. The two main characters here are very good looking, which is "dealt" with very early on. A nice touch even if an obvious one. The action is more than decent and the story moves along nicely. Aspects from the game (building weapons McGuyver style) are also present ...
