Reviews

modestassem If you are in the IMDb page of Austin & Ally you probably have some level of interest in the show, so I'll skip over its good points that you probably already know and move on to where it fell on its face. The fact of the matter is our generation will not have a lot of good Disney shows to look back at, it's not the modern perception's fault, but it's Disney unwillingness to experiment with new ideas and invest a good amount of budget in an era where TV Shows are made out to be stretched out movies rather than traditional old shows where storytelling was stale and limited by the amount of location and cinematographic intricacy that you can pull off.Austin & Ally was set to be a classic during its first two seasons, but once one of the "supposed-to-be-interesting" two characters got knocked out of his contract. In the third season, an EP came out with a song called "Take It From The Top" which eluded to a sequence of events leading to Austin Moon's comeback into the music scene, and that in a big way (since he mostly made Pop Rock music, but this differs completely from anything prior) the problem is, they went on with the lead-up to the Music Factory scenario which made absolutely no sense whatsoever and sounded like a shallow excuse/cover-up to exclude Ally's dad out the cast and ON TOP OF THAT, the central piece of the original pitch no longer had any impact on the narrative, nor on the narration in the least bit : Music. We were supposed to see Ally rise as a brilliant songwriter, and Austin as this great dancer/instrumentalist/vocalist but somehow, they managed to break it which old leads me to believe there was more in store for him until they got a budget cut... it's usually the most plausible for any show trying to lose its way out the airwaves. The problem is, and however unfair it may be, White Collar for example, made sure you got an incredible last season and a splendid ending to compensate for the show's absence, Austin and Ally on the other hand left no impression, and most viewers were probably left with a feeling of dissatisfaction, as if all their years of waiting and anticipation were turned to dust.Watch the "dream" sequence of the first episode of Season 3 to understand what I mean. It really looks like scrapped footage from the original concept which would've made it less worse than it already is.
rockyroseling Austin & Ally is not the worst show on Disney Channel, but it's the most cliché. Main character can sing, works on singing career, gets into "wacky" scenarios, somehow goes out public without getting noticed. That's Austin & Ally in a nutshell. Okay, it's cliché, but what other things are wrong with the show? I'll start with the worst part, the characters.Austin Moon is the main character, but he's a huge jerk. He stole Ally's song and never got punished for it. Even when he knew Ally had stage fright, he put her right in the spotlight anyway. He also, like everyone else, makes fun of Ally because she awkward and weird, but for some reason, that's okay! And I'm just naming what he does in the first episode. And Ally still agrees to be his songwriter. What? Why? All he's done is be a jerk to you, why would you willingly help him? Speaking of Ally, she's the.... least awful character in the series. She's pretty annoying and her social awkwardness is enough to make you cringe, but she actually does have character development that shows throughout the series and she's the only character who has it. We do get to see her become more and more confident throughout the series. She is still pretty annoying and tells unfunny jokes a lot, but at least she has some development and she isn't really rude to everyone like the other characters are. So while she isn't by any means good, she's the most bearable character. Then we have Ally's best friend Trish. Ugh, she's so lazy and rude. She also gets a new job all the time (Even though she's already Austin's manager.), but she claims to hate working. If she hates working then why doesn't she just, you know, stop working? I mean, she'd still be Austin's manager, so she would still have a job. She can quit at any time, so why doesn't she? What's the point of that? Are they trying to be funny? Is getting a job funny? That's so confusing. She also makes fun of Ally a lot. If she hates Ally so much, why are they friends? And the last is Austin's best friend Dez. He's supposed to be the funny and stupid character, but he fails miserably. This character is so overdone that every time you hear something stupid come out of their mouth it just makes you cringe instead of laugh. The morals are terrible. Stealing someone else's work is okay? Making fun of your friends is okay? Making people do things they don't want to is okay? Are they trying to make kids total jerks? The romance is also terrible. Austin and Ally have no chemistry and in the Season 3 finale, the manager of Austin's record label says Austin can't date Ally because she is working with a different label. What? He can't do that! That's his personal life, is that even legal? He also says that if Austin breaks the contract, Austin can't make music for 10 years. Once again, what? I mean, I'm no expert on how contracts work, but if the contract is broken, he doesn't have to follow it, so he's going by the rules of the contract, but if he breaks the contract, isn't the contract annulled?Edit: Okay, so apparently, if someone breaks a contract, then yeah, the company can stop them from making music. But like I said, it's his personal life. Are they really allowed to interfere? The only kinda good thing about the show is Ally's character development, but there really isn't that much development. Cliché show, bad characters, and bad romance. Switch the channel when this comes on.
trikinawel When i watched Austin and ally for the first time i like it so much the first episode i watched is chapters and choices i loved it so much. Austin and ally 's performance you can come to me makes me feel like i was in a dream i've never thought that my entire life will change by this amazing show then i started to watch the episodes on youtube from the season 1 until the season 4 and i love the songs so much i listen to them everyday. My 5 faves are i think about you, you can come to me, timeless, stuck on you, steal your heart and i love ally's songs such as parachute, the me that you don't see, redial,i'm finally me, no place like home. i love all the characters of the show and i have a crush on Austin moon he's so talented and a cute guy i love auslly moments and i feel so happy when they're together my favourite moments are when Austin and ally were pretending to be on a perfect date Austin's arm arround ally and i felt like i was in the place of ally it was as Austin and ally said "perfect " and also when Austin sang to ally i think about you it was so romantic. It's my favourite show and i enjoy it so much!
mlicablack This show just screams wannabe.I actually had hope for this show when it first came out, but the whole plot line was totally rushed! They're just trying to make it into some type of romantic comedy but its not. if you're gonna put two characters together, at least make the relationship evolve more. i don't see what the big rush was with making Austin and Ally like each other. they could have waited till the last couple of episodes of the series instead of just going back and forth with their relationship. Trish is a smart ass, if she was fired that much i highly doubt she would be able to get another job. and yet again only one likable character and thats Dez. Dez is actually the only funny character. Very cheap comedy with bad acting.
