emgmail05 I really liked this movie. It made me wanna join gymnastics. The movie is funny if you get the punch lines.
Franz Dowling Unrealistic, stupid, boring, poorly written, annoying characters, terrible plot... I could go on forever. This movie was absolute trash from beginning to end. Don't waste your life watching this junk, even 'Bring it on' was better. On no planet would national gymnastics championships go like it does in 'Stick It'. The first half of the movie was bearable, even though I hated every single character (especially the main arrogant bitch) , but the second half was trash. An entire half hour or so is spent on one tournament where nothing happens except a bunch of talented gymnasts purposefully walking off instead of performing any tricks, and the audience cheers every bloody time?? What the actual f** is happening here? In conclusion, the movie was so bad that I had to get onto IMDb and write my first ever movie review. Thank You
xochristinnaaaa Im 15 years old and i have been a gymnast for 13 years, so i know a lot about how the world of gymnastics works. and at a meet like championships, gymnasts who have been training for that long would never scratch that many times to let other girls win individual events. and then the IG classic, the girls wouldn't go for their biggest tricks and "eat mat hard" like that. they would do the tricks that they have been practicing! and the scenes where Haley falls on landings or tumbling passes, the way she falls would hurt more for an out of shape gymnast then they are showing. and it just didn't follow. Now don't get me wrong, there were some good parts of this movie. a lot of the tumbling was very good and interesting to watch. the beam routines had a little too much glitzy showy stuff, but were choreographed well. Haley's attitude was funny throughout the whole thing. and i loved watching Joanne change through the movie. If you're not a gymnast this movie probably isn't for you, since thats more of what it was about. but it still had very good parts.
SlackerRus2000 I saw this movie with my step-sister. Wasn't expecting anything special, mostly just watching it for the hot girls. To my surprise, this movie was actually very entertaining. It had a heart, was funny and delivered a good message. I don't know too much about gymnastics, but I find the message of the movie to be a real eye opener to the subjective scoring in the sport of gymnastics. I liken this movie to "Mean Girls" and definitely one of the best teen movies of the decade. I think anybody could enjoy this film, while not especially deep, it doesn't really have to be. Too many people, cynically judge movies in one lump area. As far as teen flicks go I would give this a eight, it definitely deserves a higher score than the 5.8 it currently has as of writing this review.
